On January 24, 2004 the Gooding Grange presented a symbolic memorial flag in the
memory of Captain Alan Blake Rowe to Gooding County. On Valentine's Day, the Gooding County Commissioners
raised the flag for the first time in the presence of the Gooding Grange and Gooding County employees. The flag, titled
"Lest They Be Forgotten", is placed in the hometowns of the soldiers lost in the
war on terror.
The white background symbolizes
the purity of their hearts and spirits.
The black field cross memorial signifies the solemness of their
dedication and devotion.
The red lettering represents their valor and the blood
they shed.
The gold star is for their Gold Star families.
The gold border embodies the enduring love and memories
that only families and friends can share and which are more precious than gold.
